How it all began!

Sport accompanies me throughout my entire life!

I played football until I was 18 and it was my greatest passion.

At 14, however, I was already reaching my athletic limits. I could only do one pull-up and had to take a performance test in six months. My goal was set! Not to get a C in sports!
That was my most important goal. So I trained like a maniac! Every day on the way to dinner and even afterward, I tried to do as many pull-ups as I could!

The day of the performance test arrived, and I calmly got the A with 15 pull-ups. After that, I lost track of pull-ups a bit and only did them occasionally!
After graduating from high school, I was ready to study sports. Now the next hurdle lay ahead!

Learning gymnastics! As a soccer player, that was the last thing I enjoyed doing! Strength wasn't the big issue, but rather the overall coordination in new dimensions of movement, like overhead!

Once again, I realized that I had to put all my time into this project, and so I managed to overcome this challenge.

But now I couldn't let go of gymnastics, and I fell in love with calisthenics! From the Greek "beautiful strength," or as I call it, "modern gymnastics." I found new movements, strength, and above all, a new community here where I quickly connected!

This is how my journey from a 70kg football player to a 115kg streetlifter finally began.

I never had a problem with my weight, but I quickly realized I had a good foundation for strength training. Within the first year, I gained about 10 kilos and realized how thin I actually was.

In 2019, I attended the first German Streetlift Championships, where the goal was to lift as much weight as possible in one repetition. From then on, I couldn't let go of this sport, and I absolutely wanted to participate in such competitions. I trained like crazy again and participated in the first official German Championships of the German Athletics Federation (DCSV) in 2022, taking 4th place in the +94kg weight class.

In the following years, I was unable to participate in competitions due to illness, work, or lack of motivation. Finally, I wrote down my records and found new motivation. This is how the idea for CaliBarZ was born. Motivation, records, and belonging that are truly physically visible!

Feel free to join me on this journey and motivate yourself!
